OUR STORY

Whitacre Family Farms has been proudly farming in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for 7 generations. For over 100 years our focus was on growing fruit for the processing market. What does that mean? All of our apples were destined to become your favorite apple products like apple butter or apple sauce. In recent years, that market has become extremely competitive and ultimately we were met with a tough decision, reinvent ourselves or hang it up.

In 2017 we began our new journey, producing fresh fruits and vegetables that are intended to be picked and sold directly to consumers like you. The learning curve was quite steep, but after a few years of persistence, we are back to doing what we love and continuing to explore new ways to keep our farm alive.
